How to Update and Save Safari Autofill Passwords on Mac

Using Safari's built-in password manager is the most convenient option when you're logged in with a lot of accounts on various websites. Remembering the login information for each account is a synonym for impossible until or unless you have a note of it.

What if you change the password of one of your accounts and then not remember the same later? You'll have to try logging in for each account that'll take a lot of time. Instead, why not use Safari's autofill and Keychain feature? You can always save your passwords with Keychain to take the load off your brain.

An essential thing to note is that whenever you change the password of one of your accounts, you'll no longer be able to login with the autofill feature. Thus, it requires you to change and update the Keychain password.

The process of updating passwords is very similar to manually add passwords to Safari Autofill on Mac. However, if you still need help, you can go through the instructions mentioned below to update and save Safari Autofill passwords.

How to Change the Saved Usernames and Passwords in Safari on Mac?

The steps to change the saved usernames and passwords in Safari Autofill on Mac are:

  2. Click on the Safari tab at the top of the screen.

  4. A new window will open. Select the 'Passwords' tab from the menu at the top.

  5. The next window will prompt you to enter your Mac's passcode.

  7. A pop-up window to change the login information will open. Change the username / password or both and hit the 'Done' button.

The updated info you enter will be saved and updated after you follow all the steps correctly. Once you update the password, it gets changed for the Safari Autofill. Thus, you can directly log in to your account. Not only this, but the passwords and other login info get synced across all other devices if they're logged in with the same Apple account, presuming that you use autofill on all the devices.
