How to Install the Android 12: Beta Version Available On Some Phones

We all were waiting for Android 12 to drop its beta version, and it’s here, which means that the build is now more stable, and we will not advise installing it on a daily driver.

Long with some major changes, there are a bunch of privacy features added which may or may not be useful. As of May 18, the public android 12 beta is available for pixel phones and also on some other different phones like Xiaomi, TCL, One Plus, and some more we will give that description down below. Here are some specific instructions on how you can install it in your Pixel.

Which Phones can download the Android 12 Beta?

These are some of the phones from Google that supports the Android 12 beta:

Install the Android 12 Beta Version using the Android Beta Program:

The easiest way to get the Android 12 beta is to enroll in the Android Beta Program.

You just have to visit the Android Beta Portal and then opt-in the beta version; then, after that, Google will send your phone or tablet an over-the-air update. Your phone will receive the latest beta version and then an OTA for the final version of Android Q, which will be available soon. If you want to get it now, just follow the process given below:

  • First, head to the Android Beta program portal on your pixel
  • Then after that, sign in to the Google Account associated with the phone
  • Then find your device while scrolling down
  • After scrolling, opts for the device you want to enroll in the Beta program and tap on it.
  • Follow the Prompts, and now just accept the over-the-air download, and it’s done. You will now have the Android 12 beta version.

How can you leave the Beta Program?

Just as you opt-in to the Beta program, you can easily opt-out of it too. You just have to do one simple thing visit the same Android Portal as you did to enroll and scroll down to your device and tap on opting—out. Here is what Google has said when you opt-out.

If you want to opt out of the program, you can do it at any point in time and return to the stable public version of Android. If you opt-out when your device is running the beta version of Android, all user data on your device will be wiped out. If you want to stay and graduate in this program, you can do that too you will get a stable and public version of Android 12. Your Device will not be wiped. There is nothing to worry people.

Install Android 12 using the Flash tool

You can use the Android Flash Tool a web-based version of the ADB tool to install Android 12 on your phone. Follow the steps given below:

  • First head to the Android Flash Tool site
  • Allow the site to access the ADB browser in your browser.
  • Then that enable the developer mode on your phone.
  • After that enable USB debugging in the developer settings.
  • Enable OEM unlocking on your device.
  • Then after that plug in your phone on the USB port of your computer
  • Then select the device from the popup and follow the instruction and then install the beta and it’s done.

Install Android 12 beta by flashing an OTA through the bootloader

If you Install Android 12 beta by flashing an OTA through the bootloader. For this, you need to have the latest version of Android 11 which supports the OTA update. The Android 12 beta is not installable as a standalone full factory image.

How to Flash the Android 12 OTA image to your phone:

If you want to install Android 12 on your and do not waste data on that then a full sideload OTA is the way to go. Doing this will install Android 12 over the currently installed android 11 build,, but you have to make sure that your data is still intact. Before doing this, just make sure there are no pending updates of OTA left, and if there are just do the following process. Go to Settings> About Phone> System updates and see if there any pending updates if there are updated them.
